Aletheia Shonan Senior High School is a Christian junior and senior high school affiliated with the Japan Christian school Educational Alliance. We have two different tracks from which students may choose to study. We hope all our students can spend their years of study productively and enjoyably.

Only a few Japanese returnees for first year junior high school are accepted if they pass given examinations: Japanese Language and Mathematics. An Interview is also required to pass. Any returnee having lived for more than two years must apply for admission within a year after her return to Japan.

Required papers for admission must be handed in by the end of November.

The examinations are given at the beginning of December.

To qualify to take Returnees Entrance Examination, Students need to meet the below qualifications:

1.Students that have lived abroad for more than 2 years and have returned no earlier than 1996.

2.Students also need to live with their parents or relatives.

Entrance Examination of Fujimigaoka Junior & Senior High School take place in the beginning of February.

Hosei Girls' High School gives an entrance examination (Type B) for girl students abroad. The applicants have the same test on the same day as domestic students do. Consideration is given for overseas students. Qualifications are either of the following:

Having graduated from a Japanese junior high school overseas (or expected to graduate by the time of admission), or

Having completed education in a foreign school which is equivalent to a Japanese junior high school. (Sometimes non-Japanese school students need to be judged for qualification by the entrance examination committee. For further details, please call the following number.)

A girl who has returned to Japan by the autumn of the year before entering a high school and has transferred into a national or public junior high school in Kanagawa or Tokyo qualifies for the entrance examination (Type A). For detailed information, please inquire above.

The date of the entrance examination:

Applicant:

A male student who has stayed overseas at least for a year and has returned less than 6 months before.

The applicant is required to take the same form of entrance examination as those with only domestic education, however, the record and experience overseas are to be considered during the course of selection.

For those who returned during the school term, the entrance examination is held in March and July.

The March examination is for the new 2nd year student of junior and senior high school.

The July examination is for the 1st year student of junior high school and the 1st and 2nd year student of senior high school.

Who encourage any student who has confidence in English to take the exam.
Math and Japanese exams are required for admission.
However, the differences in curriculums will be taken into consideration.

We accept about 10 returnees in the first year (seventh grade ) of junior high school.Those who want to be admitted must pass the entrance exam in February.

We are confident that the students are fully satisfied with our program which helps them keep their merits, especially in English, while trying to incorporate them onto the new surroundings gently.

We have entrance examinations three times.

• The first time is in January　--- This entrance examination is by recommendation only.
• The second time is in February--- These entrance examination are both by recommendation and general entrance examination on subjects.
• The third time is in March　--- This general entrance examination is on subjects.

This school is open to final year students in junior high schools or junior high school graduates.

Our school is an ordinary, comprehensive girls' senior high school with five courses of study. We hope that students with strong wills and eagerness to learn will apply for admission to our school.

The application form should be received by the school before the latter part of January. The examination will be in February. Only those who will be first year high school students in April are eligible to take this examination. Those who have been living abroad for more than 2 years and have been back in Japan less than 1 year are considered returnees by our school.

You will be required to take the same examination as non-returnee students and to have a private interview with several teachers. The examination subjects are English, Japanese and Mathematics. We will give special consideration to returnees. Almost all students can continue on to our university if they so desire.

Students with approximately 2nd Degree Eiken English ability should be able to handle the English section of the examination.

Suiryo High School considers returnee students to be those students who have spent more than two years abroad and have returned to Japan within last four years.

3. As of April 1 of the entrance year, the applicant is expected to live with their parents or guardians in the area where he/she can commute to school, such as Kanagawa or Tokyo.

Monitoring after Admission

Special Supplementary classes in small groups are provided not only for returnees, but for those who need special help in each academic field. As for returnees in particular, more frequent supervision is given by department staff concerning peer relations or other problems like reverse culture shock. Based on the school motto, "Be a person who is needed and trusted by others", each student's unique personality is highly valued and he/she is trained to develop his/her potential abilities to higher levels. For this purpose, special prep classes are designed in the General Course and extra intensive English lessons are prepared in the International Language Course. Annually some three to four students from the International Language Course are sent to study for a year at affiliate schools in the U.S.A. while they are currently enrolled at Hayato. In addition, all the International Language Course students attend the spring session in America for about three weeks at the end of their first school year. The General Course students can also attend the overseas session during summer, however it is not compulsory.

You will be required to take the same examination as non-returnee students and to have a private interview with several teachers. The examination subjects are English, Japanese and Mathematics. We will give special consideration to returnees. Almost all students can continue on to our university if they so desire.

Applicants are not given special treatment.
In February you must take entrance examinations in three subjects: Japanese, mathematics and English.

Transfers:	We can accept transfer students at any grade level (tenth grade, eleventh grade or twelfth grade). We will have transfer admission tests on July, December, and March.

Junior High

Transfers:	We can accept students into the seventh, eighth and ninth grade. We will have transfer admission tests on July, December, and March.

Application requirements

The applicant for Senior High must:

have studied abroad for at least one year apply within six months after returning to Japan

It is desirable for applicants to have achieved the scholastic level for the grade they intend to enter. Alternatively, it is desirable for applicants to the eighth grade to pass the 3 kyu (third grade test) STEP* test or for applicants to the tenth grade to pass the jun-ni kyu (semi-second grade test) of the STEP test.
